Last night I had one of the best experiences on SL I've had EVER.
I found a place called Crimson Falls. Its a horror roleplaying area in the vein of Silent Hill/Obscure/Suffering/House on Haunted Hill (insert horror game here). At first I just went to check it out, get a feel for the place. Explore, you know, before I actually made a character. But as fate would have it, I got sucked into the RP unwittingly. Whick ROCKED MY SOCKS most verily.
It was GREAT.
The first real RP experience I've had on SL in a themed area and it was RIGHT on. They've got some great players and a great area. They've got a nice responsive staff who got all involved as well. Even met the head people of the sim. Very nice people!
I had to think on my feet and come up with a quick history and reason why my character was there. I came up with a co-ed who was hired by a professor at her University on the mainland to gather samples from the island for his study. Unfortunately for him, his co-ed didn't last. :D
Yup, got attacked and nearly killed once, then brought back, then killed. (of course this was condensed from like.. 6 hours of RP) There was blood and gore everywhere! It was awesome. So now she's a ghost thats haunting the town and the water treatment plant where she died and her body is hidden.

So thats Myst Panther, now a ghost of Crimson Falls. I'm all giddy with excitement thinking of all the nifty goodies I could come up with to adorn my character. I want to make her look awesome. I might actually make an alt now so I can have another character to play when I don't want to be dead. heh. I'm not sure what their rules are about multiple characters, or how that works, but I'll have to remember to ask. I'm also taking notes of poses, props, and other items that would be useful in that setting. Should give me all sorts of product ideas. Its definately a totally new challenge to RP in SL. Despite the 3D enviroment, its hard to get all the gestures right. Might have to make some kind of hud to be expressive. But posing for a scene is kind of disruptive sometime, and there is a lot of bloopers with poses forcing your head through buildings and whatnot.
But still, AWESOME. Its nice to find some RP with TEETH. No fluffy sex bunny crap. Just pure bloodstained, screamworthy horror.
